Afton Partners seeks a Director to lead strategic finance initiatives with our charter school client partners around the country. As the national leader in charter school financial planning and governance, we’ve partnered with more than 80 networks serving public school students in a wide range of communities in 30 states.

This client-facing position leads projects with charter school leaders, often resulting in financially sustainable schools, stronger financial leadership, and well-informed decision-making on facilities, growth, and operational plans.

    Project teams produce these outcomes by developing financial projections and financial analysis, preparing client-facing plans, and guiding charter school leaders in their decision making. This position requires significant experience and demonstrated proficiency in financial projection modeling, financial planning, budgeting, school debt financing processes, and communication. Successful candidates will have a keen ability to turn data into intelligence for decision making. As a project leader, advanced project management and supervisory and coaching skills are critical. Other traits that are valuable in the success of this position include a strong interest in our client partners’ mission and communities, self-awareness, the ability to take ambiguous problems toward a path of solution, and strong relational skills.

    This is a full-time, remote position with geographic flexibility, requiring up to 10% travel, and offering competitive pay and benefits, including health insurance, paid time off, and 401(k) with company match. The salary range for the position is $125,000-$138,000.

    Qualifications

    • A minimum of eight (8) years of relevant work experience in education, government agencies, financial services, management consulting, or human services administration, or similar is required.
    • Direct management experience is required.
    • Bachelor's degree is required.
    • Previous experience in-house or consulting with charter, private, or independent schools is strongly preferred.
